Students should be encouraged to research their assigned portion of his life to ensure more depth and detail.\u00a0 Once completed, allow students to perform the play.<\/li>\n<li>Create a book or display of events from Prinz\u2019s life using tableaus produced by students.\u00a0 Take pictures of the tableau and have students write captions that describe the event. \u00a0To provide more depth, students can also be asked to write what they believe Prinz was thinking\/feeling at the time of the event.<\/li>\n<li>Using <em>Maus<\/em> as an example, students can create a graphic novel of Prinz\u2019s life.\u00a0 Students should research Prinz\u2019s life to include a complete picture of the life of Joachim Prinz.<\/li>\n<li>Research the life of Joachim Prinz.\u00a0 Write a research paper.\u00a0 Challenge students to use proper form and cite their work.<\/li>\n<li>Have students create a character that serves as a friend, comrade, or peer of Joachim Prinz.\u00a0 This character can follow the belief system of Prinz or be one of those who opposed the good for which he worked.\u00a0 Students will write a diary in this character\u2019s voice.\u00a0 The diary will contain a specified number of entries, explaining events that had an impact on the character. Did the character disagree with Prinz\u2019 predictions about the Nazi party? Did the character participate with Prinz in the March on Washington?\u00a0\u00a0 Did Prinz provide advice or assistance to the character?\u00a0 This activity will ensure students understand the true impact of Joachim Prinz\u2019s life.<\/li>\n<li>Joachim Prinz participated in multiple causes during his life.\u00a0 His life stands as a beacon for young people to follow as they mature and discover causes for which they are passionate.\u00a0 Prinz worked for liberation of Jews from Germany.\u00a0 He fought the discrimination and unjust methods of the Nazi Party.\u00a0 Following his immigration to America, Prinz did not forget his call for duty to fight for just causes.\u00a0 Prinz saw the injustices endured by African Americans in the United States.\u00a0 He saw this as a betrayal of the America promise of \u201cliberty and justice for all.\u201d Prinz began to stand up for the wrongs he saw and joined the movement for civil rights.\u00a0 In today\u2019s world there are a multitude of causes for which students should be aware.\u00a0 Allow students to research causes and have each student (or place students in groups) choose one for which he\/she feels strongly.\u00a0 These individuals or groups can create presentations to inform others about the causes they have chosen.\u00a0 Campaigns can then be designed to encourage support and participation in their cause.\u00a0 These campaigns should include posters, pamphlets designed to inform, letters to government representatives to encourage legislation for support, letters to encourage support and donations from the private sector including both business and individual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In groups, students can create \u201cacts\u201d for a play based on Prinz\u2019s life story.
